A Bee as a Symbol of Collective Strength
The bee, chosen as the emblem of the RISE-IN project, carries with it a profound symbolism that resonates deeply with our mission of resilience, sustainability, and transformation. Universally recognised as a symbol of industriousness, cooperation, and ecological balance, the bee perfectly encapsulates the essence of nature-based solutions, and the collective effort required to address the challenges of climate change. In RISE-IN, the bee is not only a visual motif but a meaningful representation of how communities, like hives, must work in harmony to build climate-resilient futures.
COLOURS
Colours That Reflect Water and Resilience
Rendered in shades of blue, light purple and deep green, our project’s brand evokes the critical element of water – a central focus in our work on flood risk management. These hues reflect both the vulnerability and power of water, reminding us of the delicate balance between risk and resilience. Rising above the waves, the bee embodies perseverance and hope, symbolising how, through thoughtful design and collaborative action, we can transform environmental threats into opportunities for sustainable investment.
POLLINATOR
Pollination as a Metaphor for Impact
Moreover, the bee's natural role as a pollinator mirrors RISE-IN’s approach to innovation and impact: spreading ideas, nurturing growth, and catalysing change across cities and countries. Just as bees connect ecosystems, our project connects stakeholders, from local communities to investors, aligning social innovation with financial strategy. The blue bee thus becomes a metaphor for our Bankability Readiness Level (BRL) – a measure not only of economic potential but of ecological integrity and collective ambition. In choosing the bee, we honour the quiet power of nature and the transformative strength of cooperation. It is a symbol of how small, well-coordinated actions – like the flight of a bee – can ripple outward to create lasting, systemic change.
