RISE-IN was showcased at the Exchange of Experience Workshop organised under the RIWET project in Cesena, where participants gathered for two days of knowledge-sharing and discussion focused on sustainable water management and community resilience. The workshop and the visit offered a dynamic platform for experts and stakeholders to exchange ideas and explore innovative practices addressing environmental challenges.
The event featured the presentation of five inspiring good practices alongside other relevant European projects, including RISE-IN. The first day included field visits to two remarkable regeneration sites: Ca’ Bianchi, a former quarry along the Savio River near Cesena’s city centre, and Spinadello, a historic aqueduct transformed into a visitor centre within a valuable natural area in Forlimpopoli. On the second day, participants gathered at the historic Palazzo del Ridotto in Cesena for presentations and discussions on sustainable development and project experiences. Representatives from Ambiente Italia were invited to actively contribute by presenting the RISE-IN project to attendees, fostering exchange and collaboration among participants.
Presentations throughout the event covered a diverse range of topics, including the current management of the Savio River, the role of RISE-IN and other projects in promoting resilient investment for sustainable environments, and creative river storytelling approaches developed within the Dolciacque project. Discussions also highlighted methods for engaging younger generations in environmental awareness, alongside insights from the TIMES Living Lab initiative and its contribution to recovery efforts following the 2023 Emilia-Romagna floods.
The exchange concluded with an open and constructive exchange of feedback and perspectives, underlining the importance of collaboration, shared learning, and cross-project cooperation in advancing resilient and sustainable environmental solutions.
