From 16 to 19 September, RISE-IN was presented by BIOPOLIS at the ECLAS Conference 2026 in Delft, the Netherlands.
Professor Cláudia Fernandes travelled to Delft to take part in the conference, where she delivered a presentation titled “From Nature-based to Climate-Resilient Solutions: Designing for Failure, Care and Uncertainty”.
This year’s ECLAS Conference was held under the theme “TAKE CARE – Planetary Landscape Architecture”, exploring how landscape architecture can respond to ecological and environmental challenges through greater awareness, responsibility and action. The theme considered the limits of planetary systems and the role of design in creating landscapes that support life at planetary, regional and local scales.
The conference programme was structured around five interconnected tracks, covering theory and discourse, ways of knowing and doing, emerging perspectives and voices, planetary challenges, and transformative education.
The 2026 edition was organised by the Dutch School of Landscape Architecture (DSL), a partnership between the Dutch Association for Garden and Landscape Architecture (NVTL) and seven educational and research institutions in the Netherlands and Flanders.
