On 2 October 2025, Prof. Cláudia Fernandes led a session at Porto Business School as part of the MBA Orientation Week, under the title “Leading with Nature: Biodiversity and Nature-Based Strategies for Business”.
The event, which attracted around 160 students across two sessions, provided an engaging platform to explore the pressing challenges society faces due to its disconnection from nature and the widespread undervaluation of natural capital. Prof. Fernandes emphasised the opportunities that nature itself, along with its regenerative capacity, offers to tackle these challenges, particularly through Nature-Based Solutions.
During the session, the RISE-IN project was presented, highlighting its approach to integrating natural strategies into business practices. The event concluded with an overview of several ongoing research projects at BIOPOLIS, including a video presentation of RISE-IN.
