On 14 January 2026, Centro do Clima and BIOPOLIS co-organised a public event at Estela Parish to present the RISE-IN project to local citizens.
The initiative began with a walk along the Rio Alto, accompanied by the President of Estela Parish. This moment provided an opportunity for open conversation, attentive listening, and shared observation, helping to deepen understanding of the area’s history, the community’s relationship with the river, and the challenges experienced locally.
Following the walk, a public presentation of the RISE-IN project took place at the Junta de Freguesia da Estela. The session created an important space for dialogue and exchange with the community, during which the project was introduced, and the value of community involvement was highlighted, particularly in the co-creation of solutions to enhance the Rio Alto and help mitigate the impacts of flooding.
