In early November, the RISE-IN project marked an important milestone with the successful delivery of two academic and stakeholder-focused events addressing climate resilience and biodiversity.
On 6 November, a Workshop on Social Innovation for Climate Resilience was hosted by LUT University’s Department of Social Sciences, in collaboration with the Município da Póvoa de Varzim and the Centro do Clima. The workshop brought together local stakeholders to explore and co-design solutions aimed at strengthening climate resilience. The programme included short presentations by Antti Silvast and Enerelt Enkhtuya, which set the scene for interactive group discussions focusing on ongoing social innovation initiatives.
The following day, on 7 November, a seminar entitled Material Democracy and Biodiversity: Reimagining Publics, Expertise, and Participation took place as part of the Seminar in Biodiversity and Evolution series. The event provided a platform for reflection on the relationships between biodiversity, public participation and expertise, contributing to broader discussions within the RISE-IN project framework.
Together, the two events highlighted the project’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and stakeholder engagement around climate resilience, social innovation and biodiversity.
